Your habit data is stored entirely in your browser's localStorage. We do not have access to your habit names, completion data, streak information, or any other habit-related content. This data lives exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
1.2 Contact Form Data
When you contact us through our contact form or by email, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and is not shared with any third party.
1.3 Newsletter Subscriptions
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and the date of subscription. We use this information solely to send you our weekly habit insights. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
1.4 Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand how people use our website in aggregate. This includes data such as: page views, general location by country (not city or more specific), browser type, and time spent on pages. We do not use individual tracking, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking of any kind. We do not use Google Analytics or other advertising-oriented analytics tools.
1.5 Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for the website to function correctly. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or tracking purposes. If you disable cookies in your browser, the website will continue to function normally.
2 How We Use Information
- Contact form data: To respond to your inquiry, typically within 2 business days.
- Newsletter data: To send our weekly habit insights email. One email per week, no promotional spam.
- Analytics data: To understand which content is helpful, improve our website, and identify technical issues. Always in aggregate — never at the individual level.
We do not use your information for advertising, do not build user profiles, do not sell data, and do not share information with third parties except as described in Section 5.
3 Data Storage and Security
Your habit tracker data is stored locally in your browser using the Web Storage API (localStorage). This data never leaves your device. It is not backed up to our servers, and we have no mechanism to recover it if your browser data is cleared. We recommend exporting your data regularly using the tracker's built-in export feature.
Contact and newsletter data is stored securely with industry-standard encryption (AES-256 at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit). We follow security best practices including regular security reviews, access controls, and minimal data retention.
We retain contact form data for 12 months and newsletter subscription data until you unsubscribe. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.
4 Your Rights
Under GDPR and applicable privacy laws, you have the following rights with respect to any personal data we hold about you:

5 Third-Party Services
We use a minimal set of third-party services, each chosen for their privacy-friendly approach:
- Google Fonts: We use Google Fonts for typography. When your browser loads our pages, it may make a request to Google's servers to retrieve font files. This is subject to Google's privacy policy. No personal tracking data is exchanged beyond what is standard for any web request.
- jQuery CDN (code.jquery.com): We load the jQuery library from the official jQuery CDN. This is a standard web practice and involves only a standard CDN request with no personal data.
6 Children's Privacy
Consist is not intended for or directed to users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a user under 13, we will delete that information immediately.
